Google is Getting Rid of Reader

Yesterday I received an email telling me that in July 2013, Google will retired READER!!!!  What?  WHY?  How?  I use reader several times a day.  I love it.  I use it for blogs and for craigslist.  It works great!  I'm shocked that a program that works so great will be retired.  I love this one landing spot for all of my blogs and saved searches on craigslist.  Now I need to find something else that works this well.  I've been snooping around and feedly is the place most seem to be going to. Why is google retiring something so useful?  Google please reconsider?  I have not retried feedly, I'd rather leave everything as it is...  Do you use Google Reader?  Will you miss it?
