Every year before  Christmas we as a family and a few of the kids friends go out for pizza and then we drive around looking a Christmas displays.  Last year we found this display.. So I came home and watched it again on you tube. It is great!  Love the song.

I think I'm driving my family nuts.  This year I finally got brave enough to ship out large blowmolds in bubble wrap and heavy plastic instead of a box.  By doing this is easier for me, I don't have to find a box and the it saves tonz of money on shipping costs.  So far so good, none damaged yet.  However my uncles first time shipping in this manner the buyer complained that it arrived smashed.  So now my uncle won't ship that way.  I've had my biggest year for blowmolds and I've very happy with the profits of this year because of it.  However I am now blowmold obsessed.  Every display with a blowmold I get excited and try to guess a price and wish that it was mine.  Mental note to myself for next years rummage sales to stop at those houses because they might be in the market to sell theirs!!  LOL!  My family is gonna throw me out of the vehicle!

I've got some cleaning and cooking to do today before the family arrives.  Plus one ebay purchase I made (a santa gift) has not arrived.  It had plenty of time with first class parcel shipping...  Man my fingers and toes are crossed it comes today, it was the crown jewel of her gifts.  They aren't getting much to open it's pretty much all money.  So I really hope it arrives.

Merry Christmas!

More Things at Different Things

New Things at Different Things

Ceramic Christmas Collection

I didn't realize I collected these until recently.  These are highly collectible on the ebay and go for high prices.  However I have sold one and it arrived in 50 pieces.  The buyer was very nice about accepting my apology and the refund.  Lesson learned they don't ship well.  However I keep buying them.  I started bringing them out when I decorated the house and OMG I had 13 of them!
And a ceramic wreath

Christmas Decorating 2012 Part 1

Big Christmas Tree in Black and Red
Little Christmas Tree in  Black and Red
My Tree Skirt that I made.  It's made from a leather and camel hair jacket, plaid skirt, flannel robe and a Christmas throw blanket.  It is really cool, with pockets and fringe...  To the far left the black and white is the throw, the red plaid is the skirt, and next is the leather and then the flannel.  the panel that is black camel hair can't be seen.   Its really special to me.

The World Our Children Live In

Yesterday at noon the news broke here that a shooting at an ELEMENTARY school only 5 days after another mass shooting at a busy shopping mall.  This is an epidemic.  How do we stop this?  The world our children live is changing rapidly.   A childs fear of leaving the house or the reality that  being shot in public or at home becomes an everyday possibility, which  saddens me more.  Why are mentally ill people taking very innocent people with them?  This is taking a bright happy time of the year and putting a huge dark cloud over it.  Will it ever be the same for anyone..  The thought of a child saying "I want to live"  "I only want Christmas"  Wow these are not simple wishes, these are right to live hopes/  Why is a child living in the USA having to think and live like this. They deserve much much more from the adults and world of theirs.  This is like cancer everyone is being affected by it.  Why can't we solve these horrible things that we are getting custom to being "normal".

We as society have got to learn how to keep on eye on family and friendly that suddenly change and drift away from our lives.  These are the people that having a break.  We need to learn how to recognize and how to report these love ones to people that will actually follow up.  I know they are adults and laws prevent us and our loved ones right is not to seek help on their.. That right there needs change,  By the time people get to this point they have pushed all their love ones away, we have to learn that is a sign that they must be interviewed by a mental health expert.  This is most difficult but this tragedy can happen.  Everyone interviewed  in the news said no  one thought it could happen in their school..... bbbuuuttt it can.  So sadly.  People that push you away probably have made you mad and you might be totally disappointed in them but thats when our love for this person needs to kick in with at least interest in what they are doing.   If the possibility might be there, then someone in the mental health field needs to be contacted and they must have the ability to help them even if they are adults.  Thats where the laws need to be changed.

Plus the guns.  Ok  outlawing guns will not happen..  well you can but the tiger is already out of the cage.  There are so many guns in this country that outlawing guns is silly.  More gun control may not be the answer but trying certain things might.  This last shooting the guns were the parents guns.  They passed the back ground checks..  Maybe the gun sellers should look into who else lives in the homes?  I don't know if that is something that might help.  But that is something they can do.  Guns need to be locked up at home.  Easy and no reason it can't be done.  The key or combination should be kept private.  Next ammo should not be sold on the internet.  Ammo should be under control as is prescription drugs.  Number of boxes should be limited and there should be a data base linked to your social security number that if you buy 2 boxes and then go to another store and buy 2 boxes it is flagged and refused.  I can't tell you what rules would work, but the longer it takes to get an arsenal the better.  More time to think about a mass killing and things might change.  Plus if you don't have a gun registered to you then you can't buy that type of ammo.  Because you are trying to buy ammo for an illegal gun..  If you buy a used gun it must be registered just like when you buy a used car.  Limited the number of guns also should be considered.  If you have more then a certain number then needs to be a licensed gun collector.  Not everyone with guns are dangerous, we can't stop their freedom to collect.  But sadly like everything else we must make it harder and as it seems the people who don't want to cause harm will have to jump through more hoops.

Plus the 24/7 coverage must stop, that is giving the shooters glory and planting seeds in the minds of the unstable.  I know the world wants information to deal with this.  Everyone wants to know more because they are seeking the reasons for the shooting.  But sadly there is no clear cut reason other then mental illness.   The shock, the horror, the anger and the struggle to understand...

But this must stop our children...  are losing their innocent world....

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving.  I worked and then had my mom and inlaws over for supper.  It was a very nice time.  The temperature yesterday as 63 degrees!  A record for Thanksgiving!  However today being black friday the temperature is 23 degrees and it is snowing.  We are not getting dumped with snow, just a bit along side the roads.  This is the first black friday in a long time I didn't go.  There just wasn't anything I need.  My shopping list is extremely short, just cash and gift cards this year.  As that is what is requested.  Teenagers!  Plus I just don't understand (kind of over welming the start times and what is really on sale during that time) or believe starting black friday deals at 8 pm on Thanksgiving is wrong.  I bawked at last years change to midnight, which I did do.  The turkey was put away many hours already at midnight.  But starting at 8 people have to get in line about the time we ate supper.  I'm not going to give up eating with my precious family to shop.  Even if it is for a deal.  The rate we are going Black Friday will start the day after Halloween and then the day after Christmas..  Which it kind of that way now, with the deep deep discounts.  If there is a retailer out there reading this please send Black Friday back to 5AM the day AFTER Thanksgiving...

Online merchants are increasingly feeling the pressure to offer free shipping, but, as they are fond of saying, there is no such thing as free shipping. That point is being driven home this week after the U.S. Postal Service announced it would raise postage rates on January 27, 2013, pending review by the Postal Regulatory Commission.
The popular Priority Mail service will increase overall an average of 6.3%. Retail prices will increase an average of 9%, but the approximately 3% of the increase is for free tracking visibility which will now be included at no charge.
The average price increase for Priority Mail Commercial Base will be 3.7%, available to those who use online postage services - clearly this is an incentive for online sellers to investigate such services if they don't use them already. The Commercial Plus price category, which offers even lower prices to large-volume customers, will see an average price increase of 3.8%.

Happy Labor Day
We bought some more apple trees, a plum tree and a maple we will be planting today.  I might go back for a pear tree today.  I did  some research and I think I found a pear that is self pollinating, which Home Depot sells.  I hope think the plum I picked is also self pollinating.  I just don't want to of each of those trees.  Plums and Pears aren't the favorites in the house.  I like both and I know I can't eat fruit from  2 trees.  I do have an ornamental pear, I read somewhere that an ornamental can also pollinate a fruit baring pear tree.  We'll see.

Well better get to it, weatherman is calling for rain by noon!

Bye... Summer 2012

Labor Day weekend is here.  I'm so sad, I'm mourning summers end.   I love summer and the weather summer brings.  Even with the heat of July and unusual length it hung around..  I loved it!  The cool evenings and the sun disappearing at 8:00 pm that fall brings makes me sad.  It's already started.  Fall brings ripe apples and fall harvest which I do enjoy but it's hard for me to eat the apple pie having to say goodbye to my beloved summer.  Winter is my least favorite season and fall is just the first step into below zero temperatures and blizzard like snow storms.  Plus by the end of September the rummage sales are nonexistent.  I don't enjoy many winter activities.  Last winter was a very mild one so I was able to walk on our road throughout the season.  But believe me that is very rare.  Most years our country road is the last to plowed of snow and after it is plowed it turns into an ice rink that you can barely drive on much less walk on.  I was thinking I could enjoy the horses my neighbor is boarding would be a great thing to walk by each day in the snow.  However now I found out the horse will be going elsewhere because the water supply to the building the horse are in right now freezes in the winter so they can stay there.  Man!  The one beautiful thing the winter could bring won't be happening anyway.  Well I always have the customers on ebay to keep me on my toes during the winter.

The Day Has Come When You Don't Feel Safe in a Movie Theater

http://accidentalsexiness.files.wordpress.com/2008/04/darkknightposter-fullhuge.jpg

So sad... when you can't go to a movie theater and feel safe.

My heart, thought and prayers go out to the survivors, the families and Aurora.

I pray there won't be any copycat shootings.

The only thing I can say is Why?

Joyful Noise Dolly Parton

I finally got a chance to watch Joyful Noise.  It was good but the editing was horrible.  Big gaps, it didn't flow well.  The gaps seemed like we missed big chunks of story.  The biggest distraction was this
Why does she look like this?
Granted she is older now then when this photo was taken.  But could normal aging be worse then what she looks like after surgery?  But she is not alone
Aging is hard..  I know, however these stars are extremely hard to watch.  It's distraction.  Whats the first thing that goes through my mind when I see them.  Why did they do this?  They can't be broke and can't retire.  Then I wonder how old are they.  Gee I can remember them all from the 70's.  So how old were they then and it's 2012 and I go to work figuring...  Of course then I'm not paying any attention to the movie or the interview they are doing.  Is it worth it for them to do this surgery rather age naturally?  I don't know?  Would they work if they looked their age?  I don't know.  I would like to say yes...  Betty White is 90 years old and is still working.  She doesn't look like she has any surgery and she is higher on the A list now then she has ever been.
You go girl!!!

Please note I love each and every person I spoke about here.  I probably will always enjoy whatever they do.
