Charles Wysocki Puzzles

Having a Whale of a Good Time is the name of the puzzle!  This is a more difficult puzzle.  But it's gorgeous!

Nicci's Birthday Death by Chocolate

I made this for Nicci's birthday party
Death by Chocolate Trifle
1 Package of Brownie Mix (prepared as directed on box)
1 small box of chocolate pudding (prepared as directed on box)
1 oz container of Cool Whip thawed
10 Oreo Cookies, crushed
Hershey's chocolate syrup
2 pints strawberries, rinsed and sliced
In a large glass trifle dish, sprinkle a layer of crushed oreos (you may use them all or set aside)  some to sprinkle over the top of the trifle
On top of the Oreos, layer half the brownies.  Drizzle with chocolate syrup.  Top with half the strawberries ( I didn't put strawberries in the middle I used some caramel syrup here).  Spread with half the pudding mixture (which is pudding and cool whip folded together).  Then repeat the layers, using the rest of the brownies, another drizzling of chocolate syrup, the rest of the strawberries and finally the rest of the pudding mixture.  Smooth the top of the pudding, then drizzle with more chocolate syrup.  (If you reserved some of the crushed oreos, you can sprinkle them on top, too) Chill until serving.

For the trifle bowl I used a clear glass bowl and a cut glass vase.  To anchor them together I used silly putty on the top edge of the vase and set the bowl on top.  It held really really well.  When I wanted to wash it I need help getting it a part to it was very tight and worked well

I only had a bite but it was very good.

HAPPY EASTER

HAPPY EASTER TO EVERYONE!

I have to work today.  The reservations that have booked today show the largest crowd we've had in years!  Is this the sign that the economy is turning around despite the high fuel prices?  Here gas is $3.89.

The Easter Bunny got up early this morning and hide the baskets.  I know my babies are 20 and 15 years old but they still love their Easter baskets.  My daughters basket is hidden in a spruce tree in the back yard and my sons basket is at my mom's house.  They are all going out for dinner today, so when they go to mom's to pick her up his basket is sitting on her porch.   HA! Gotcha Philip!!  He's fun to watch when he can't find his basket.  Gotta love it.  But I will miss it this year because I will be at work.  :(  This year I made a basket up for my son's girlfriend.  Her basket is hidden in Philip's truck.  She will be surprised.

Have a wonderful and safe day!

The Monster Truck

This is the MONSTER TRUCK

My son bought this truck and rebuild it first as a muddy truck and then he super sized it with 30 inch tractor tires and new heavy duty axles!  Isn't it cool.  Extremely hard to drive and steer.  He will be hauling it to the pipeline in a few weeks.  He is so proud of this project..  well so am I!!

Refund Cents My Favorite Website

Refund Cents is my favorite website aside from my store Different Things and this blog!  LOL.  Anyway...  Today Refund Cents is open to everyone to check out.  Other wise there is a fee which I gladly pay and is well worth every penny.  Check out Refund Cents here

Refund Cents has taught me every money saving skills I have.  Every day there are deals posted that are happening in the minute.  The owner of the site is Michelle, she started the magazine back in the early 80's and then started the website in the late 90's.  Refund Cents has a blog and is newly on Facebook.  Make sure you check it.  You will not be disappointed in what you learn and the deals are amazing.

The weather is getting nicer...  it's about time.  I love it!

Walmart Price Matching Changes and Deals

I was doing my Wednesdays shopping trip.  Things have been so upside down for me between snowstorms, health issues and boycotting Target.

I stopped at Walmart to price match Piggly Wigglys and Festival Foods ads.  I was ready to check out and I was told nicely by the cashier that Walmart changed it's price matching policy.  They will only price match exact brand for exact brand.  They will not be price matching store brand for store brand any longer.  This is very disappointing for me.  I enjoyed this perk and never abused this right.  So now my shopping strategy will change again.  I will only stopping at Walmart once a month to stock up for the items I always buy there and will not be then every week.  One more store I don't have to stop at.  I usually shop from 7:30am until about noon.  Well since I don't stop at Target any more I have cut 45 minutes off my trip and if I don't stop at Walmart that will cut another 45 minutes to an hour off my trip.  I have doing more stopping at Aldis and have been very happy.  They have some really great fruits and vegetables plus there cheap.  Fruits and vegetables is my anchor of my diet.  However Aldis doesn't open until 9 in the morning there are times I have to sit in the parking lot waiting for it to open.  Getting home before 10 is really cool.  However I know I'm not stocking up on as many items.   This will catch up to me and I will have to go without or spend more money when my stock piles run out.

Gas prices here are $3.74 at most stations.  I saw one station at $3.69.
Milk  is on sale here for $1.99

Walmart has Great Value light 4 pack yogurt for $1.50 it is very good.  Fresh mushrooms $.98, asparagus $1.88 a pound, Birdseye frozen broccoli $1 each and I used 2 $1/2 coupons from the Sunday inserts.

Aldis bags of puffed corn snacks (perfect for caramel corn) on sale for $.59 each.  Bananas $.39 a pound, cantaloupe $1.69 each, celery $.99, mangoes $.69 each (never had fresh before..  how do you eat fresh?  with the skin or without?) Navel oranges $1.99 a bag. gala apples (these are so good) $2.69 and red grapes $.75 a pound.

Festival Food canned black olives $.89 limit, gallon white vinegar $1.49 limit 1, shredded cheese $.99 limit 3 and half gallon chocolate milk $.99 with ad coupons.  Hashbrowns $1.29 each with in store coupon. Turkey brats $2.50 on sale.  Spent $17 and saved $14.  Not my best but I didn't have any manufacturer coupons.

Pick n Save Beneful $5.65 and used $3 catalina coupon.  Shout color magnet $4.09 used $1/1 coupon printed from www.coupons.com  I love these Shout Color magnet sheets..  they work!!  Boxed stuffing on sale for $.79 my hubby needs this for his fishing trip next week.  He will be going to Erie for his yearly fishing trip. Oreida potatoes $2.50 and used $1/2 coupons from last sundays paper.  Hot Pockets $1.53 with store coupon.  Single packs of salmon $1.  Milk $1.99 with store coupon.  Kens dressing $1.66 and used $1/1 from the Sunday inserts.  I doubled 5 coupons.  I spent $15 and saved $22.

Thats it for this week.  Craigslist have some rummages sale starting tomorrow.  Finally!
