Charles Wysocki Puzzles

Look at the puzzles I completed this week.

This one doesn't have a name but the number is 4679-3

And this one is also not named but the number is 4679-14

I also completed 2 others but each one of those were missing pieces and I opened another one which had a note saying there was a piece missing.  So that one I didn't even start to put together, I just threw it away along with the other 2 that had missing pieces.

Oven Ranch Chicken Recipe

Last week I wanted a flavorful chicken breast so I googled for this recipe

recipe is ready in 30-60 minutes Ready in: 30-60 minutes
recipe difficulty 3/5 Difficulty:   3 (1=easiest :: hardest=5)

Ingredients:
1/3 cup plain bread crumbs
1 package (0.4-oz. size) buttermilk ranch salad dressing mix
1/3 cup light sour cream
4 boneless skinless chicken breast halves

Directions:
Heat oven to 375°F. Spray cookie sheet with nonstick cooking spray.

In shallow dish or pie pan, combine bread crumbs and salad dressing mix; mix well. Place sour cream in another shallow dish or pie pan.

Dip chicken in sour cream, coating well. Roll coated chicken in bread crumb mixture. Place chicken on sprayed cookie sheet. If desired, spray chicken with nonstick cooking spray. Discard any remaining bread crumb mixture and sour cream.

Bake at 375°F. for 30 to 35 minutes or until chicken is fork-tender and juices run clear

Sorry I don't have a picture.  These chicken breasts were great.  Lots of flavor, moist and very one loved them.   I will make them again.

lonny magazine review

I like it!!
Here is the website
I like the website too!

The style is very good.  They mention DIY but there isn't lot of how to diy.  But its very possible to do some of it yourself.  So of the examples are pricey tho.  Still it's a great magazine to page through for new ideas.  I like it.  I will be looking at the next issue.  Isn't that funny how I stated that..  "looking at"  have you noticed that there is so  little text to go with all the beautiful pictures in magazines lately.  No reading needed!!!  Go check it out  lonnymag.com

Wednesdays Deals

Well lets start with Tuesday I stopped at Walgreens for Reach toothbrushes $.99 after Register Rewards, but my $1/1 coupons that I had printed from either coupons.com or smartsource.com were expired.  I had a few of the $2/2 coupons but those won't work because the rewards is only for 1.  So moving on.  I checked out the 50% off Valentines stuff and I found 4 Lindt Truffles $1.99 and I had 4 $1/1 coupons.  So lucky I had just the right amount of coupons!!  $.99 each is a GREAT price.  Also bought 4 Valentines Gift sacks for $.50/4 they will work for other occasions too.

Then on Wednesday I stopped at Walmart price matched with the Festival Foods ad they are having a dollar days sale.  I got Mt Dew 2 liter, Louis Kemp Imitation crab (great for on lettuce salads and in noodle salads), gallon of milk, Birdseye Steamfresh and No Yolk noodles.  All a dollar each and then I had $1/2 coupons for the No Yolks and$1/3 for the Steamfresh.  I also bought Huggies 16 wipes which were $.97 each and used the $.75 coupons that I talked about here.  They have Ortega taco seasoning $.58 and I used $1/2 coupon I printed from smartsource.com  I used the Gain $3/1 coupon that was in the Sunday inserts last weekend.  80 count sheets are $3.26.  I wish I had more of these, couponkutters.com were all out the last time I looked. I spent $29 and saved $17.

I did actually stop at Festival Foods because Walmart doesn't carry a few things that they had on sale and there was a limit on how many I could purchase.  So I picked up more No Yolks, milk and Birdseye because I had more coupons.  Then I also picked up 2 packages of Goldfish Extreme pizza crackers, Tato Skins, Sour Dough Italian bread and Dr Pepper 6pk bottles...  ALL were $1 each even the 6pk of Dr Pepper!!  Which Walmart was out of!  Spent $22 saved 30.

Pick n Save  Kraft Sandwich Mayo in Garlic and Herb...  I so wanted to try this and there is a $.75 coupon out which expires at the beginning of March.  So I want to try it because my other coupons expire...  if I like it I will pick up more.  Nope haven't tried it yet.  Ragu Alfredo $1.88 used $1/2.  Progresso Classic soup $.99 used $1./4 coupon from the Sunday inserts.  Ken's Dressing $1.66 used $1/1 from the Sunday inserts.  Ronzoni pasta $1 and used $1/2 coupons from the Sunday inserts. Totino pizzas $1/1 used $.75/2 and $1/3 coupons that I printed from somewhere.  Pure Silk shaving cream $1.  Sargento shredded cheese clearanced $1.49 (these were specialty flavors) used $.50/2.  Spent $17 and saved $35.

Target 3 pk of Lysol Toilet bowl cleaner $3.48 clearanced and I used $1/2 coupon from the Sunday inserts.  They had their Valentines stuff 50% off and I bought Snickers fun size.  However that is not what they charged me and I didn't notice until I got home.  The self price was $3.74 and I was charged $2.70.  I used the $1.50/2 coupon. Not at all happy about being over charged!!!  They have GE Energy Smart single pack of light bulbs $2.69 and I used $1/1 from the Sunday inserts and I also used $1/1 coupon printed from target.com  Then I bought some more of the Vaseline Lotion $2.99 and I used the $1/1 coupon from the Sunday inserts and the $1/1 coupon printed from target.com  This combation worked perfectly last week but this week the manufacturer coupon beeped OMG she refused to take it.  It was the correct product and size.  Everything was right but the coupon beeped and she refused to take it.  They won't take coupons if they beep and it doesn't matter why.  They won't take more then 3 alike coupons PER DAY!!!  So I can't have things rung up separately.  Nor can I take the items out of the store and come back and buy more.  I don't get why they are being so hard on the coupon users.  Why would they want to refuse a sale because the person is using coupons?  If they don't want the shelves to be clean off by one coupon using person then they should put a limit on how many one person can purchase and it should be clearly stated on the shelf.  However they do not have any of their rules posted anywhere.  They can do make up their own rules at will.  I have had so many upsets with Target in the last few months.. I tend to go there less and less.  I used to get all my mypoints rewards put on Target gift cards but no more.  I will not be getting my prescriptions there any longer either.  I wish they understood that they have a nitch  with their clearance prices and excepting coupons and they should embrace those customers that come in for those deals..  Because I used to buy more there, but since their tougher coupon rules, their backward way of doing price matches, their refusal of holding merchandise that was paid for, their unpredictable cafe hours, they refused to give back CASH on a turn with a receipt.  I had to take the money on a gift card...  unacceptable!!!!  It's just one thing after another.  I'm to the point I will only go their for must haves and will explain each and everyone of my grievances here on my blog.

Last stop Aldis for more of the oranges..  they are so good!!!

I had to stop at the library today so I thought I would stop at Piggly Wiggly to pick up Bugles $.98, Cheerio Snack mix $.98, Chex Mix $.98, Food Club Graham crackers ($.88 with facebook coupon), Pillsbury Crescents $.98, Progresso Soup $.98, and Hamburger Helper$.88 to get those prices they must be purchased in groups of 8 which I did and then I used $1/4 coupon for the soup, $.75/3 coupon for the Pillsbury and the $.75/3 for the Hamburger Helper.  So I spent $19 and saved $34.

Grands Krispy Kreme Donuts

This week Festival Foods have Grands Biscuits for $1 each.  That price is excellent.  However my refrigerator is already well stocked with these from sales at Piggly Wiggly, but it's hard not to pick up more when I have $1/3 coupons that I picked up from shelves a few weeks ago.   I use these biscuits for pizza crust (both regular pizza and breakfast pizza), cinnamon rolls and just biscuits that I serve with casserole and roasts.  Well yesterday I got thinking a few years ago I had tried making donuts from Grands but they didn't turn out well.  It wasn't the donut part that was the problem it was the glaze or sugar coating I didn't like.  So I got thinking we don't have a Krispy Kreme around here anymore and I really liked them (even tho Quik Trip has a donut that is very very close to Krispy Kreme)  Anyway I thought I'm going to try it again.  So I googled Krispy Kreme copycat recipes and I found the recipe for the glaze.  The day before I changed the oil in my fryer so I started with new~clean oil in my fryer which was set to 375 degrees.  I grabbed a can of Grands and I stood there thinking what can I use to cut a hole in the middle.  None of my cookie/biscuit cutters are small enough.  I then thought about taking a cap from a bottle of Coke.  Sure enough perfect size.  So I cut holes in all the of the donuts and then made the glaze while the oil was getting hot.  First melt 1/3 cup of butter (I used margarine) once melted removed from heat and stir in 2 cups powered sugar and 1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla.  Stir until smooth.  Then add 1 tablespoon of water at a time and blend until smooth.  I used 2 tablespoons.  By then the oil was heated to 375 degrees.  I put 2 Grands in the oil at the time.  It took about 2 minutes to get golden brown on one side so I turned it over at that point.  Wait another 2 minutes until golden.  Remove from oil and put it on a paper towel to drain off the oil.  Then quickly dunk into the glaze, make sure both sides are coated. Then I let them cool on a cooling rack I used for cookies and a cookie sheet to drain off the excess glaze!  Once cooled enjoy!!  These are awesome.  If I didn't know they were Grands biscuits I would never have guessed.  So worth the calories and time.  However the time it took was about 20 minutes tops to do this.  Quicker then making brownies or cakes.  They are buttery and moist on the inside.  So good.  So another reason to buy these when they are on sale and I have coupon.
Grands Biscuits
This is the Coke Cap that made the holes like this
Raw..
Frying
Plus you don't have to waste anything... Fry the dough cut from the middle for donut holes.  Which I used sugar as the coating.  I could have dunked them in the glaze because I had lots of glaze left.  But I wanted to try something else.  They loved the donut holes too!!
Finished donuts!!!  Yum!
Here is the recipes and there is also a chocolate frosting recipe I'm going to try next time... and yes there will be a NEXT time!

Sturgeon Spearing Season Has Begun

Yesterday was opening day of Sturgeon Spearing Season.  The season lasts for 16 days or until the limits or caps are met.  It will probably end early because of the water clarity and every other year the season is open to upper river lakes too.  Well this year is the year it is open to the upper lakes.

But good news my son got his fish yesterday...  Yah!
I can't remember the length and weight.  But my son's season was over after 15 minutes of opening his hole!!  Way cool!!  Now hubby needs to get his!!

This Weeks Deal - HP G Series Laptop From Best Buy Review

I didn't do a lot of shopping this week.

Target Finish Gel Tabs are on sale for  $2.50 and I had one $2.25 that my aunt received in her Sunday inserts.  I didn't get these great coupons in ours.  I ended up with a 20 count box for $2.24 plus tax.

Finish dishwasher cleaner was on sale for $2.59 and I had a $1/1 coupon from the Sunday inserts and a $1 off Target coupon.  Vaseline lotion is on sale for $3.69 and I had a $1 coupon from the Sunday inserts.  My dove body mist was on sale for $3.27 and I got more of these coupons from my aunt and Target has the scent I like.  Nexxus shampoo is $8.69 not on sale can you believe it?  But I needed a really good shampoo so I splurged, but I had a $3 off coupon from a home mailer.  I also bought some paper dessert plates that were on clearance for $1.49.  I spent $12 and I saved $15.

Walmart this week Nestle water has the 28 packs back again for $2.88.  Aspargus $1.48 price matched with Pick n Save ad.  That was the only item I wanted or need from Pick n Save so I didn't go this week there.  Walmart has tons of stuff on clearance.  See what I bought....

aren't they the cutest?  The bottoms aren't hard so they don't clunk so loud when ya walk and that also makes them gentle on the feet.

I stopped at Aldis which I haven't been doing.  I got milk, eggs, bananas, oranges (these are so good, I went back and got 2 more bags) cantaloupe, bread and tortilla chips.

I went shopping on Wednesday and the high temperature was 1 degree, so I put off getting gas until the next day.  Well gas was $3.09 on Wednesday it was $3.14 on Thursday! and the temperature was 2 below 0!!! Man was I unhappy but then I was in town on Friday and guess what????  Gas was back to $3.09!!  now with the Egypt revolution over (hopefully) gas is going back down.  But let me tell you it seems like a really bad joke on me!!!  Anyway the reason I was in town so often this week is I bought this

Now everyone in the house has a computer.  Philip would sit and wait for him dad to be done with the latop..  but usually it was Philip waiting for his dad to fall asleep and then carefully remove the lap top without waking him..  It was a cute little joke in the house.  I really did want an extra computer so we can hook up the laptop to the TV so we can watch TV over the internet.  We don't have cable so now we can see some of the stuff the rest of the world is seeing on the big TV.    This is my first HP laptop, all our desk tops are HP and I won't buy any other brand for desktops.  However our other lap top is a Toshiba and we have had great luck with that.  This HP G62-4570X was a great price and it has a webcam, HDMI port.  I had it optimized at Best Buy to take the bloatware off.  I installed Avast free antivirus which was a breeze and so was the HP wireless printer software.  I made my own restore disk too.  I had this up and running in less then an hour... how things have changed in the last 12-13 years that I've had a computer.  I remember downloading Microsoft updates on dial up that would take an entire day to do!!!  So far I really like it.  No serious complaints.  I don't like the touch pad.  There is no scrolling feature.  Its really hard to get used to especially when reading blogs and my google reader.  But I guess I will get used to it.  And I knew this computer didn't have this feature before I bought so I can't make a fuss about it.  And the other thing is the keys seem loose/wiggly or kind of cheap compared to the Toshiba.   I also bought the extended 2 year warranty.  I normally don't buy these but with the lap tops it must have.  The 2 year deal includes everything except for droppage and abuse.  But the best part is you get one replacement battery free someone during the 2 years.  Nice... laptop batteries are expensive!  The laptop was $399 and the warranty was $99.  Best Buy has a buy back program and since I bought it this week the buy back program is free.  Other wise it would have been $70.  This is the craziest program ever.  I think having to pay for it is not right.   Ok if I would turn in my laptop in 6 months I would $200 back.  But if I waited 2 years I would only $80 back no matter if it works or not.  Plus if I would actually have paid for the program $70 that doesn't come out very good.   However down the road 2 year what will it cost to dispose of a non working laptop is a good question.  But for now there is no way I would spend the money and I'm lucky it was free for me...  however 2 years from now I will probably still using this laptop, just like our other one is almost 3 years old and there is nothing wrong with it, up until yesterday hubby and first born were fighting for it!  LOL!

Hey this after noon the temperature was 33 degrees.  I took Henry outside to play with Shelby and the snow.
Ok is this too much Henry?????  Nah...

Green Bay Packers Cheeseheads!

The Green Bay Packers won the Super Bowl last night.  It was amazing.  I live only 30 miles from Green Bay its such a thrill to be so near Titletown and feel the vibe.   Everyone is still on such a high today from the win last night.  This afternoon every ones lives will stop to watch the Packer arrive back to Green Bay.  Their arrival will be televised on all the local channels.  This high from winner Super Bowl 45 will last for days.  We are winners and loving it.  When the Packers go all the way like this really helps make winter go faster.  I remember when Brett Favre took the Packers to win Super Bowl 31 that January also flew right by with all the excitement of the winning all the play offs just like this time.  I love see the Packers at top of this list again!!

Target Coupons

There are a lot of great coupons to print target.com on the home page scroll to the bottom.  It's in the first column/middle of the page.  I printed these Philly cream cheese $.50/2, OM Carving Board $.75/1, Mt Dew 12's, Jello $.50/2, Finsh Jet Dry dishwasher cleaner $1/1, Mars candy $1/3 and GE Reveal $1/1.  All of these coupons are Target coupons which you can use right along with manufacturer coupons.  There is a Philly cream cheese $.50/2 that can be printed from www.coupons.com used 21921 zip code if it doesn't come up with your zip. Remember you can use a manufacturer coupon along with a store coupon.  So you can use both the coupons on 2 packages of cream cheese.  This could be a good deal depending if the cream cheese goes on sale or if their regular price is good.  Plus you could price match at Target if another local store has a better price.  Same goes for the OM Carving Board  there is a $1/1 that can be printed at coupons.com or use the coupon that came in the Sunday inserts and the $.75 coupon and get $1.75 off.  Again is depends on the store. Finish, jello and GE also have manufacturer coupons.  I have printed these out so I'm ready for some great deals.  Please NOTE the last time I was at Target they wouldn't let me use more then 3 a like coupons.  So keep that in mind.

Some people don't believe it printing them out until they know they can use them.  But I think that way I would miss out on clearance deals and unadvertised deals by not having the coupons printed.  I might not use every coupon I print and those coupons do get wasted.  But I think the few sheets of paper and ink are worth the gamble.

I think there is a way to send Target digital coupons to my blackberry but I haven't tried it yet.  I haven't done e coupons loaded on store cards either.  This is something I will be looking into and letting you know my thoughts.

Storm & Shopping

The big snow storm yesterday kept me home so I didn't do my double coupons yesterday.  I went shopping today.

Last Sunday's paper there were 2 great coupons: Lindt $1/1 coupon and Secret $2/1 both of these are great coupons and get as many as you can gather up.  Menards have the candy $5/2 I price matched at Walmart.  These are going to be the candy I will give to the kids for Valentines Day.  They even come in a red bag!!  I bought Secret body mist LOVE the Burst scent.  My daughter and I can't get enough.  So this coupons is getting used for these.  I bought 2 at Walmart (there was only 2 left), their regular price is $3.62 and I used the $2 coupons so final cost $1.62 each this is a very good price.    However Walgreens has a slightly better deal being $10/4 secret products after register rewards.  BUT they don't have our Burst scent.  None of our local stores have it.  I also bought the softest throw blanket for $5.  I just can't pass by a super soft blanket.  I price matched Festival foods Mt Dew $10/5.  They also have Beneful small bags for $4.98 and I used $2 coupon from last Sunday paper and they also have Kibbles and Bits small bags for $4.98 and used $2 coupon from last Sundays paper.  I saved $15 there.  Oh yeah Walmart has lots and lots of clothes and outwear on clearance.  Their jackets are 50% off.  Tons of clothes and toys at great prices in lawn and garden.  Oh they great prices on blankets too.  AND lots of TV's on clearance too.  I wish I would have waited a year on buying our 52" TV until this year.  The prices are reduced at 50%.  Man!

Walgreens Deals Doritos $1,97 and Jello Pudding $.59 with in ad coupon plus I used $.55/3 coupon I printed from coupons.com  However now I've hear that Walmarts pudding is cheaper.  I will have to check there next time.

Thats all for now.

New Coupon Site

I found a new site that I can print coupons from couponnetwork
There is a coupon for $.75 any Huggies wipes ANY Size.  Walmart has trial size for $.97.  The trials sizes would be $.22 after coupons.  These are perfect in your purse, bag, camping, in the car and of course babies.

Puzzle Disappointment

I was putting this beautiful

puzzle together and I was crusin right along.  This puzzle is more difficult then the other I have been doing.  Anyway I was just about half way done and look what I found..

This is so very disappointing.  I not going to finish the puzzle.  This is a rare Charles Wysocki too!! Man!!
